I first developed an interest in photography whilst studying for a BA(Hons) in Graphic Design at Dundee College of Art in the 1980’s and photography was my chosen secondary subject. Back then it was all film cameras and darkroom processing but as photoshop retouching gradually became part of my job as a graphic designer my interest in photography was also rekindled. I now live in Bo’ness near Edinburgh and most of my images are taken in the surrounding area with a few from further afield as time and travel permits.
I have enjoyed success in several competitions, most notably winning the Practical Photography magazine Photographer of the Year award in 2009, being Highly Commended in Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year competition and winning the Scottish Nature Photography awards in 2015..
